Time Out New York recently did an article on the sex party scene in New York that we pretty interesting. But it really depends on what type of scene you’re looking for.  There a kink parties, play parties, giant sex parties, private sex parties, queer parties, and everything in between.  

A good place to start is Fetlife.com.  They have a huge listing of events all over the country that cross the gamut. 

Many of the parties in and around NY are 19 and up.  Some are 21 and over though, so depending on your ages, it’s good to make sure before you sign up for something. 

I met many of my friends through Poly Cocktails, which is a monthly meet and greet in NYC. It was an easy place for me to make friends, and learn about the various scenes and parties.

My only advice is to go (wherever you decide) with a friend.  Take your time, see what feels safe and interesting, and don’t let anyone pressure you into something you’re not comfortable doing.  Any party worth it’s salt makes space for people new to the scene without asking them to push their boundaries right away.
