musicamour asked: Thank you for the short stories. It's a pleasure to read pieces that are written well along with being sexy & witty. Intelligence and humor are such a turn on, so please keep them coming. With that said, what type of music do you enjoy? Cheers- jm
Thank you so much for your kind words.
I’m currently listening to Lana Del Rey, Tom Waits, Chris Smither, Suzi Quatro, The Old Blind Dogs, Cosmo Jarvis, and as always, Nina Simone.
Anonymous asked: The places your photos are from, do you just get together with a group of people and take pictures? Do people have sex or is it just erotic photographs? How does it all work!
Hi! Thanks for the question.
It takes quite a bit of work, money, and effort to put the big shoots together. We often shoot ten to twenty models in one long day of hard work. We schedule space months in advance, line up models, and prepare wardrobe, etc. It’s a whole lot of fun, but it’s definitely work.
We also do smaller shoots which are a bit more intimate, and don’t take quite as much time to organize.
On occasion, people are definitely getting it on during the shoots. Sometimes the fun parts are just outside of the photos.
Anonymous asked: Why did you decide to start Sock Drawer Press when you already publish erotica through QNY?
Well, J. Scott Grand and I were sitting at Lillie’s one afternoon pounding manhattans and reminiscing about finding porn in the woods, passing out in Alphabet City, and fingering dates in the back seats of old cars. In the middle of the conversation one of us looked at the other and said, “man, we should write this shit down.”
At the end of the day, we both wanted a place to write things that didn’t fit with our current projects. We also wanted to work with some of our favorite writers, find new ones, and see what the world of publishing looked like from the other side.
And thus, Sock Drawer Press was born. Well, almost born. It’s still coming along.
Thanks for asking!
Anonymous asked: I visited New York a few weeks ago and had a fantasy of running into you at a bar, in a restaurant, anywhere I was at the time. I'd see a handsome man in a suit and smile to myself, wondering if he could be you. I'd feel myself getting wet at the thought that somehow I could find myself in bed with you (and any combination of your impossibly sexy friends) and that perhaps, later, I'd recognize one of your stories as being about me. A girl can dream. Thank you for the words and multiple orgasms.
Wow. I think the only appropriate response to this is thank you. And thank you again.
Also, I’m sorry I missed you.
yourbadgrrl asked: What books are on your nightstand right now? Any suggestions for new books/authors? Thanks!
Hi! Good question. I hate it, but it’s a good question.
Okay, I don’t hate it, but I always feel like I should have a better answer. Right now I have Mockingjay along with The Way of Zen by Allan Watts on my nightstand. I’m about to start Frank Delaney’s The Last Storyteller, but otherwise I haven’t actually been reading much.
As for smut, I’ve been reading Shon Richards, Daisy Danger, J. Scott Grand, Sommer Marsden, and Ruby Kiddell.
Thanks for the question!
Anonymous asked: Why don't you reread and edit your ebooks, or even run spell check?
Dear Reader,
Thank you for writing! This is a great question that requires a great answer. Or at least an honest answer.
The truth is that every time my editor comes over to work we end up fucking for hours and hours and we don’t get around to my e-books.
Okay, okay. The truth is somewhat more uncomfortable. I do reread, edit, and spell check my e-books. Crazy right? I hired an editor for the first one, and I’ve had some friends do others, but I have been known (and this is a terrible terrible thing) to edit them on my own and publish them. Ack. Like I said, it’s a bad idea.
When I started with e-books I did this for one reason that I can almost stand by: momentum. I wanted to keep writing, and keep publishing, even though I knew it wasn’t perfect. Like I said, I can almost stand by it.
From now on though I’m having all my books edited before publishing them. So, here’s to a year of improved quality control. Sexy right?
Thanks again for writing and for reading.

Anonymous asked: Who are you? What do you look like? And are your words purely fiction, or do you write from your own experience at times?
This feels somewhat existential when I start thinking about it. Who am I? Who AM I? Hmm…
I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again: all of my words are completely true. Of course, that doesn’t mean that they happened the way I say they did or even anything like that. But that’s the nature of truth.
If a story really turns you on, or catches your attention, chances are good that it’s completely autobiographical.
Thanks for writing!
jscottgrand asked: Who are some of your favorite writers both in within and without of the erotic genre? Also, are there other types of art that influence your work? If so, how? And your welcome for this softball. ;)
Obviously I read a lot of J. Scott Grand and completely love his work.
I actually don’t read tons of erotica. I discovered Literotica when I was first out of college, and I used to spend hours going through stories there, but I was rarely looking for an author in particular.
As a kid I worshiped Dumas, e.e. cummings, Asimov, and New Yorker cartoons. In college I loved Mario Vargas Llosa, Italo Calvino, Umberto Ecco, Anais Nin, Tony Morrison, and a bunch of postmodern fuckers like Jameson and Barthes.
Now I read a lot of fantasy novels, everything by Frank Delaney, and my overwhelming twitter feed. And, of course, everything Katie West posts anywhere in the multiverse.
As for art, I like them naked photos and those dirty paintings. I also love textiles, fashion, and interior design.
I’m not a huge art nerd though and I’m useless in a museum or a Chelsea gallery.
Howzat?
montysello asked: How beautiful is Calico? I mean, I just. Whoa. How did you get so lucky to know her?
To answer your first question, she is very beautiful. Inside and out. Okay, maybe more than very. She’s super beautiful? Awesomely beautiful?
As for my luck, I blame it all on my fantastic friends.
But, technically The Dirty Gentleman introduced us a while back.
The age old question…
Geeks are sexy because brilliant minds are sexy.
Plus, if they wear glasses and have cute haircuts then when they’re sucking your cock you can come on them and take a photo; it makes for super amazing hipster porn that you can enlarge and plaster an entire wall with and call it art.
That’s why.
